The Lucia 40 is as luxuriously equipped as a 50 foot catamaran, but without the "luxury price" that goes with a charter of a catamaran of 50 feet or more.
The designers of the Lucia 40 put special emphasis on sailing performance with a focus on simplicity of sailing. With a sail area of just over 95 square meters (genoa and mainsail), this catamaran, weighing almost 10 tons, offers good performance in all wind speeds, and handling is very easy.

EXTERIOR: The Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40 has some innovative features such as a strongly protected and elevated steering position that offers a perfect view of all four corners of the boat. The raised steering console is accessible from both deck and cockpit. On the bow deck there are sun cushions, under which there are anchors and ropes. When no sails are used, the propulsion is provided by two 30 HP diesel engines. The Lucia 40 is a very comfortable cruising catamaran with all the important features such as a comfortable cockpit, a safe steering station and good performance. It is a great choice for couples with a smaller budget who want to feel the luxury of large catamarans!
INTERIOR: The Lucia 40 offers a luxurious interior similar to the larger Fountain Pajot models. The accommodation is very spacious and offers plenty of storage space. FP Lucia 40 in the charter version offers four cabins with the same number of heads (toilet + shower). In each hull there is a bow and stern cabin, and the corresponding toilets are located in the middle of the ship. The saloon is at the same level as the cockpit, with no stairs in between, which makes it much safer to move around. The saloon is surprisingly spacious for a catamaran of only 40 feet. Next to the table in the salon is an L-shaped sofa for 6 people. The end seat on the sofa is placed so that you can sit on it while working on the navigation table, so no separate navigation seat is needed.

The designers of Lucia 40, from Berret Racoupeau Yachts Design, have done a very good job and produced a catamaran that is not too wide or heavy, like some catamarans of other brands that are direct competitors to this model. The new Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40 has replaced the Lipari 41, and in terms of internal useful volume, the Lucia 40 is much roomier than the Lipari 41, although it is one foot shorter.
The spacious cockpit has the same layout and almost the same space as the much larger FP Helia 44 catamaran, with wide steps on the left and right sides of the stern for easy boarding from the shore or from dinghy in the sea. On the steps on the right side there are swim ladders. About ten people can sit comfortably around the table in the cockpit and on the surrounding seats. The composite hardtop covers the entire cockpit and protects it from rain and sun. Handholds can be found everywhere.
